Each year, Free Bikes 4 Kidz Madison collects thousands of donated bicycles and refurbishes them to give away to marginalized communities in Dane County, Racine, and Milwaukee.

In order to distribute bikes efficiently and equitably, we rely on our community of distribution partners to help us find the new owners for our bicycles. Our distribution partners include other 501c3 organizations, community centers, churches, and schools. They identify our recipients and collect numerous data points for us. We could not do this work without their help! To date, Free Bikes 4 Kidz Madison has supported 144 other nonprofit organizations in Dane County and southern Wisconsin. Much of the work to refurbish bicycles is done by Free Bikes 4 Kidz volunteers so we would like to give them a BIG shout out for the hundreds of volunteer hours they spend with us helping to put more smiles on the faces of kids and their families. If you’d like to be a part of it, you can sign up under the Volunteer tab on our website. Corporate teams of 6-12 people are always welcome! We host corporate groups and volunteer teams on Fridays from 12:30pm – 3pm.
