Jane teaches bike recipient how to ride

Our Bike Giveaway and Bike to Work Programs serve children and adults by providing them with bicycles for school, employment, community connections, and recreation. Together, we can help ensure that those who cannot afford bicycles have access to the freedom, opportunity, and transportation that a bike provides.

Two options are available for this 45-minute session.

Bikes for Kids Wisconsin distributes over 1,500 bikes throughout Wisconsin with the help of Bike Distribution Partners who determine and register our bike recipients each year.

Our program has evolved over the years and you are invited to learn how it works, how you can be involved, and what is required from our distribution partners.

We have two programs through which we distribute bikes:

• Bike Giveaway Program – children and adults receive bikes with the support of organizations they receive services from or through schools they attend. School social workers and program staff typically take the lead role.

• Bike to Work Program – older teens, adults, and immigrants receive bikes to reduce transportation barriers to employment.

Sessions will be held on Zoom. Please RSVP then you’ll receive the link to the session. The email address is ride (at) bikesforkidswi.org.

*Please mention which session you plan to attend. Feel free to email in advance if you have questions or are unsure about your participation.

We will provide an overview of the program, what’s required of our distribution partners, we’ll discuss timing, and how you can choose to receive bikes in the spring. Q&A will take place at the end.

These sessions are open to employees of nonprofits serving those facing financial hardship, public school employees and tribes in Wisconsin. We look forward to seeing you there!
